CANDLE SAFETY TIPS

Please read safety tips before burning your candles.

With the proper use and care, your new candle will bring you many hours of pleasure.

As with all candles, they may pose a fire hazard if the candle is used improperly.

Candle colors may vary slightly from batch to batch as they are  individually handpoured.

Burn times are approximate and may vary depending on candle color and scent.

NEVER LEAVE A BURNING CANDLE UNATTENDED OR WITHIN REACH OF CHILDREN OR PETS.  Non burning candles also should be out of the reach from pets and children as scented wax smells delicious, and children and pets don't know the difference between candle wax and food.

KEEP YOUR WICKS TRIMED TO 1/4" at all times to avoid black soot and high flames". Do not just light your candle and forget about it. Even when the candle is burning, monitor the wick height.    An ideal flame height is 1/2".  If it gets too much taller and you might have to put out the candle to trim it every so often.

THE FIRST TIME YOU BURN YOUR CANDLE IS IMPORTANT!!  Try to burn your candle long enough to get the wax pool out to about 1/4" from the edge of the candle.  To do this, burn your candle for an hour per inch in diameter that it is. If you have a 2" diameter candle, burn it for two hours every time you burn it.  If the candle is 3", burn it for 3 hours, and so on.  This allows a nice wax pool to develop and therefore will give you the best scent.  It will also prevent your candle from developing a sink hole in the middle

For an even burn, ROTATE YOUR CANDLE every so often.

Place candle on a level, HEAT RESISTANT surface, and keep out of drafts or away from ceiling fans. Do not place a burning candle next to any flammable items such curtains or lampshades.

ALWAYS USE TIGHT FITTING HOLDERS WHEN BURNING VOTIVES AS THESE ARE NOT FREE STANDING AND THE WAX WILL SPILL OVER.

If you burn votives, always remove the metal clip that's left at the bottom when the candle is finished. Don't stack another votive on top of the wick clip. This will cause the votive candle to burn unevenly and the flame will get to close to the sides and crack the holder.

BURN PILLAR CANDLES using the 1 hour per inch" rule so that you don't over burn your candle and get a leak in the side of it from letting it go too long.  Burn only until the wax pool reaches about 1/4" from the edge of the candle.  At that point, put it out, let the was harden and then you can start all over again.

KEEP THE WICK STRAIGHT!  This will ensure an even burn throughout the life of your candle.  If your candle has burned unevenly due to a draft or a wick that hasn't been kept straight, push the wick to the higher side so the candle burns  to the higher side. This should help the candle repair itself.

TO EXTINGUISH YOUR CANDLE, use a candle snuff, as opposed to blowing them out. Blowing out your candles may allow lit pieces of wick to land on something that is flammable!

To prvent any damage to surfaces or pets or persons, please discard use of candle when 1/2" of wax remains.  Burning to the end may cause glass to shatter.

To prevent fading, keep out of direct sunlight.
